We're back!

Although the new site is up and running, the TSC side of things had to take a temporary back-seat position to the (D2OL)™ side of the site. We're labeling this project as "UNDER CONSTRUCTION" for now...

Check back soon!

You've come to help the right people.

Welcome to the Ars Technica Team Frozen Yogurt webpage. We are proud to be in this most important project, combating Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) and orphan diseases. TSC is a genetic disorder that leads to benign tumors in multiple organs, including the brain, kidneys, heart, eyes, lungs and other organs.

The project is administered by The Rothberg Institute for Childhood Diseases under the guidance of Dr. Jonathan Rothberg, PhD. The goal of The Rothberg Institute is to find a cure for children suffering from TSC using modern biology, computer science and chemistry.

The Rothberg Institute is a non-profit organization that is funding some of the best researchers at Harvard, Yale and the Fox Chase Cancer Research Center to find new drugs in the treatment of TSC. Potential drugs will ether kill cells that have mutated TSC genes or make these cells more like normal non-mutated cells. The results of virtual screening are available for anybody interested in using these to develop drugs.

Team Frozen Yogurt’s involvement in the project is through Community TSC, a means of harnessing the processing power of many personal computers worldwide to rival even a super computer. By using Sengent’s D2OL software, we are able to be part of a team effort trying to find new drugs to treat patients with TSC.
